Volunteer Opportunities
Tutoring with Preschools of Hope
Preschools of Hope volunteers share their love of reading and language with young children, and help them form an association between letters, words and books. The children benefit from the positive individual attention they receive from the volunteers as they are actively engaged through play-based learning activities.

Tutoring with Schools of Hope
Schools of Hope tutors volunteer in either an elementary school classroom or an after-school community program to work with children in grades K-5 who would benefit from more one-on-one attention in reading or math from a caring adult.
We hold periodic trainings for school volunteers and have a variety of resources available to learn about being a reading tutor.
We are asking volunteers to commit to a minimum of one hour per week on a consistent basis for one academic semester or school year. Most tutoring takes place between the hours of 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., although some after-school and evening volunteering opportunities may be available. Volunteers must be able to read and write the English language and have interest in working with students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
