Welcome to Madison SOS (Speak Out, Sister!)
We're a grassroots, youth-driven community initiative taking action on key issues affecting Madison young women. Our main objectives:
- To engage high school teen girls in leadership and activism
- To provide teens with a forum to express themselves, to connect with teens of other backgrounds, and to learn about and discuss local social justice and political issues affecting their lives
- To collaborate with community leaders, local organizations, educators, and other community stakeholders to advance the status of teen girls in Madison
Madison SOS was founded in early 2007 by Natalia Thompson, then 15, to unite teen girls across the city on important social justice issues affecting their lives. Our past and current initiatives include a leadership training program, a community mural project, a platform for action on the issues that most matter to girls, and more! We need your support! We have been humbled by the outpouring of support from community individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations, but we are always in need of volunteers and financial support.
