AAII Madison Subgroup
Since our first meeting in September 2002, the AAII Madison Subgroup usually meets on the 3rd Wednesday of September, October, November, February, March and May. That's six meetings a year. This pattern follows the AAII Milwaukee Chapter meeting schedule. The seminar meeting year begins in September and ends in May. The national headquarters for AAII is in Chicago. AAII employs 20 to 30 people there. There are 60-70 local AAII chapters located in major U.S. cities. Within these chapters there are subgroups like the one in Madison and special interest groups (SIGs) that may focus on mutual funds, computerized investing and other topics. Volunteers are welcome to work on general seminar meetings or to start SIGs in Madison. Fundamental analysis, technical analysis, or computerized investing would be good topics for SIGs. AAII sets aside funding for local chapters to mail their meeting announcements to AAII members who request to be on their mailing lists. There is no funding for subgroups and SIGs. By having our meetings follow the Milwaukee schedule we are able to have our meetings promoted in the same flyer that announces meetings in Milwaukee. Our meetings in Madison have been free and open to the public. AAII membership is not required to attend meetings. About 20% of attendees are not AAII members. An email announcement goes out to everyone in our database about three or four weeks before each meeting. A reminder email is sent around two weeks before a meeting. You can learn more about joining AAII by following the AAII Information link at the left or by attending one of our meetings. |
