Current Issues
Current AU-Wisconsin Chapter Church-State Issues Include:
- Teaching "Creationism" in its latest incarnation, "Intelligent Design" in science classes in some Wisconsin Public Schools
- The Milwaukee Parental Choice Program, which uses tax dollars from ALL Wisconsin taxpayers to pay for religious indoctrination in parochial schools, and efforts to expand the program
- Display of religious monuments and decorations on public property in Wisconsin
- Efforts to pass "Conscience Clause" legislation to permit medical institutions and professionals, including pharmacists, to withhold doctor-ordered medical services on the basis of their religious belief
- Use of public tax dollars for discriminatory "faith-based" social service and other programs throughout the Badger state
- Prayer and proselytizing in public schools
- Religious content in public school curricula and activity
