About Us
The National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) is dedicated to providing outreach programs along with improving habitate and conservation. One of the programs is the Women in the Outdoors (WITO). WITO provides women 14 & up the opportunity to have fun and learn outdoor activities by participating in informal classes. Participants can take a class and learn the basics of an interest they may have. For example, instead of buying all the necessary equipment and taking several classes, you can participate in a one - two hour class and see if you like it first. The J.A.K.E.S. (Juniors, Acquiring, Knowledge, Education and Sportsmenship) program was delveloped to provide outdoor activities to children under the age of 17. Kids can experience the thrill of catching a trout, camping with others, building a bird house and so much more. The Belleville High Flyers chapter was formed December 2003. Prior to becoming a NWTF Chapter, we hosted Women in the Outdoors and J.A.K.E.S. events. For our Women in the Outdoors we have been awarded the 2001 Best Overall New Event and 2002 Most Improved Event awards. |
