CRSE invites you to ensure comprehensive sex education in public schools!
Working for complete health education to counteract the public health crisis facing teenagers |
Responsible sex education is one answer to the public health crisis affecting teenagers in Wisconsin. Wisconsin's rates of teenage STD/STI transmission and unplanned pregnancy are some of the highest in the nataion.
CRSE is dedicated to building a union of parents, students, teachers, and concerned individuals in the fight for teenage health and comprehensive sex education.
CRSE has a statewide board of directors who provide medically-accurate information regarding comprehensive sex education, provide support for the Responsible Sex Education Bill (proposed changes to 118.019 http://www.legis.state.wi.us/2005/data/AB-690.pdf), and work to ensure that sex education taught in Wisconsin schools includes medically-accurate information about abstinence and the prevention of unintended pregnancy and STIs through the use of contraceptives.
CRSE recognizes that abstinence is the only 100% effective way to prevent pregnancy and STI transmission, but believes that the programs most effective at reducing and delaying risky teen sexual behavior include instruction on abstinence as well as ways to prevent disease and pregnancy.
Feel free to contact our office or e-mail if you would like to get involved!
