We rehearse Tuesdays throughout the month from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church located at 6101 University Ave., just south of its intersection with Allen Blvd. (County Highway M). We'll also have an Open Call for Singers as part of the evening on Sept. 2, 9 and 16. (See separate announcements on this page.)

Open Call for Singers on three consecutive Tuesdays

For three consecutive Tuesday nights you can sing with the Chorus at your own speed and decide whether you'd like to join our tenor, lead, baritone or bass section. You bring the voice and we'll provide the sheet music and anything else you might need. Attend any or all of these Open Call nights at our regular rehearsal location, Asbury United Methodist Church, 6101 University Ave., starting at 7 p.m.
Open Call for Singers: Night One

Buy Beautiful Poinsettias from us for the Holidays!

It's our biggest fundraising event of the year, and helps the non-profit Chorus maintain and expand our music programs and support of local charities.
We're again offering vigorous, healthy, impressive Wisconsin-grown poinsettia plants (with 8 or more blooms. Free delivery in Dane County (no shipping) the first week of December. Prices will be announced.
The deadline for orders is Oct. 21. To order, contact any Capitol Chordsmen Chorus member or reach us at barbershoppers@hotmail.com or 608/223-9939.
Use that same email address anytime during the year to be added to our notification list when we begin taking orders.

Fall Thanksgiving Concert: Food Pantry Fundraiser

Our second annual Fall Thanksgiving Concert will be at 4 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6101 University Ave., featuring the Capitol Chordsmen, the Cheery-O's quartet from Oshkosh, and other guests to be announced. Admission $5 (Asbury United Methodist church members admitted without charge) and additional free will donations will be accepted. Profits will go to the Second Harvest Food Bank to support local food pantries. "We sing so others may eat."

Our biggest barbershop show of 2009!

Save the date for our annual barbershop show, this time one performance only, at 7 p.m. at the Middleton Performing Arts Center.
Headlining are three quartets, plus the Capitol Chordsmen in concert. The quartets: international champions Happiness Emporium, those hilarious guys from Milwaukee – Nightwatch - and an international competitor in the collegiate division – Counterpoint!
Ticket prices and outlets and other details will be announced closer to the date.
Post-Show "Afterglow"

Harmony Marketplace open today only!
Date: 4/18/2009
Once a year the Capitol Chordsmen open their own Harmony Marketplace at their annual show, featuring the largest collection of barbershop CDs and DVDs available anytime during the year in south central Wisconsin. The Marketplace will be open at the Middleton Performing Arts Center, 2100 Bristol St., half-an-hour before showtimes, during the intermission, and for at least 15 minutes after the show. You do NOT need a show ticket to make purchases. We'll post more details about the show.
