Volunteer Opportunities
Adopt a Trail
You can be responsible for maintaining a section of the trails. This would include mowing (we have use of a mower) and periodically hiking the trail to see that the trail is clear of obstacles and debris. For more information contact Luke Kloberdanz. 608-592-1707 or Email Luke
Contribute to this site or write for Mammoth Prints
If you would like to share your expertise or write about your experiences on the Ice Age Trail, please contact Paulette Walker Smith.
Interpreter for hikes
Are you knowledgeable about birds, geology, prairies, wild flowers, animals, art, or local history? Please volunteer to lead a hike where you can share your interest with others. Contact Patti Herman, 608-592-5666, or Email Patti
to set a date.
Regular Trail Hikers/Monitors
Do you regularily hike a section of the trail or would you like to discover a new stretch? Trail Monitors are responsible for choosing a section of trail, then reporting the status of their section to Luke. These reports will help determine chapter workdays and outings. If needed, Trail Monitors can be supplied with the appropriate gear and equipment, including a daypack, loppers, first aid kit, IAT water bottle and other gear. Contact Luke Kloberdanz, 608-592-1707 or Email Luke
or Tim Malzhan, 608-592-1433 or Email Tim
