Madison Blues Society Presents: "SOUTH MADISON BLUES KIDS"
Date: 8/16/2008
South Madison Blues Kids is a public performance by South Madison youths, ages 7-16, who have been learning to play Blues harmonica and write kid-based blues songs and lyrics. This performance is the culmination of a music education program taught by Joe Nosek, whose band, local blues stars the Cash Box Kings, will accompany and follow The Blues Kids.

The "Blues Kids" will perform the first set at 3:30 PM followed by a full set of Chicago-style Blues by The Cash Box Kings.

The performances will take place at Penn Park, 2101 Fisher Street, Madison. Bring own lawn chairs. Free of charge.

Visit the MBS's official website(on left) for more information.

This program was made possible with additional financial support from a "HANDS ACROSS SOUTH MADISON" grant from the Town of Madison and the South Metropolitan Planning Council.

Next Madison Blues Society Meeting!
Date: 9/09/2008
Attending MBS's monthly meetings is really the only way to be on top of things going on in Madison's blues world.

MBS meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of every month. They start at 6:30 PM and end by 8:30 PM and are held at J.T.Whitney's, located across from the Whitney Way Shopping Center on Whitney Way (exits off the West Beltline). Anyone and everyone who is interested in lending a hand with MBS's many worthwhile activities in the Madison area is welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings!

The meeting room is located in the back of JT Whitney's. Food and drinks can be ordered during the meeting. A live free blues jam, beginning about 8:30 PM, typically follows the meeting.

You do not have to be a member of the Madison Blues Society to attend the meetings, but why on Earth wouldn't you want to? (Click on "Membership Form" link in the left hand column of this page for details on becomming a MBS member.)
