The purpose of the Service Clubs Speakers Bank website is to help you strengthen your club by offering the names of interesting, informative speakers who you can invite to your weekly club meetings. Scheduling quality speakers every week is recognized as critically important to the health and growth of service clubs in Dane County and around the world. Quality speakers make for worthwhile meetings, helping to attract new members and reduce member resignations. You can make your meetings that much more appealing to current members and potential new members by booking the best speakers every week. There are some 150+ speakers listed in a dozen categories along with information on how to contact them by telephone and email. Also listed is information about how to sign up speakers from the University of Wisconsin Speakers Bureau and many other organizations and institutions. Please note that this initiative is named the Service Clubs Speakers Bank, and not a Speakers Bureau. Each and every club is asked to regularly "deposit" the names of quality speakers they hear at their meetings or know about -- so that all clubs can "make withdrawals" of speakers to invite. With the addition of each new speaker, every club program chair will have a greater available resource. The Speakers Bank was originally developed by Bill Robbins, Madison Downtown Rotary, for Rotary clubs. In 2006, the name was changed and the speakers bank was made available to all Dane County service clubs. The more "deposits" of quality speakers made by the 30+ clubs, the better the programs of all our clubs.
