About Us
We are a non-profit, historical re-enactment group that studies and cultivates the appreciation of the everyday aspects of culture and life in the Viking Age (AD 750-1100). WHO ARE ITS MEMBERS? The members come from the community at large and who have specific interests in the Vikings and who enjoy specialized re-enactment. WHAT DO WE DO? We experiment, research and re-create the crafts and skills of Viking Culture. We attempt to exhibit our knowledge and discoveries to our members and to the general public to promote a complete view of early Scandinavian culture. The club members focus upon accurately re-creating all aspects of everyday life, including, but not limited to clothing and jewelry, art, craft ods (woodworking, woodcarving, lethercraft, metalworking, textiles), cooking and gardening, games, social customs, housing and shipbuilding. WHAT WE OFFER. To our members we offer a chance to experience ecerday life Medieval Scandinavia during the Viking Age. Members create their own clothing and accessories and recieve an education in the history and culture of the Viking Age. Each member is given the opportunity to develope the art and craft skills that most interests them. To the public, we offer a living history exhibit of Viking Age culture through our outdoor encampments. We participate in community events such as ethnic days, festivals, parades, demonstrations and educational programs.
